Set in Edwardian London, ‘The Lady’ tells the story of an English professor and speech therapist, Henry Biggins, who has made a bet with his friends that he can teach a poor but beautiful young woman, Lisa Little, from the streets of London to speak English like an aristocrat.

 

He declares that in six months he can turn Lisa into a lady by teaching her to speak English properly – but what begins as simply as a silly bet, soon transforms into a relationship that will change both of their lives and challenge the social class system of 1903 London forever.

 

Can the audience teach Lisa to speak English properly, and will they also learn how to speak like the Queen of England herself?
